Ferry fire: Search for the 12 missing off Corfu continues

The search is continuing for 12 people missing after a ferry burst into flames near the Greek island of Corfu.

They are all thought to be truck drivers from Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey and Lithuania, Greek authorities said.

The fire, which began on Friday, was still burning 24 hours later, hampering the rescuers, they said.

A total of 280 people were evacuated and two airlifted from the ship after being trapped in the hold.

The ferry was officially carrying 239 passengers and 51 crew, according to the company.

But two Afghan nationals who were not registered as passengers on the ship were also rescued on Friday
